MTV Movie Awards 2014 | Highlights

Here are the best moments from this years MTV Movie Awards

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards kicked off blockbuster movie season with a blockbuster event—jam-packed with stars, musical performances, and of course, the show’s signature outrageousness!

Host Conan O’Brien brought the funny throughout the show, kicking off with a hilarious opening segment that featured 50 celeb cameos, by everyone from Taylor Swift to Jack Nicholson. He made some ‘improvements’ to the show such as combining two signature categories into one: Best Kiss Fight. And he came up with a very, uh, innovative (and effective) tactic for getting celebs to wrap up lengthy acceptance speeches!

Some of our favourite celebs were named golden popcorn winners. Mila Kunis won Best Villain, Jared Leto had the Best Onscreen Transformation, and Josh Hutcherson won male acting honours. His costar Jennifer Lawrence got female honours (though she wasn’t in the house to accept). And their flick ‘Catching Fire’ took the Movie of the Year prize!

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Movie Awards without some racy moments. Zac Efron proved in the flesh why he won Best Shirtless Performance – oh, those abs!!! And while presenting Best Kiss, Dave Franco, Zac Efron and Seth Rogen gave smooches to lucky ladies picked from the audience…although things got a little weird when it turned out one was Seth’s mom …

Jordana Brewster presented a tribute to the late Paul Walker calling him ‘an inspiration to live life to the fullest’. Channing Tatum was charming and swoon-worthy as ever while accepting his Trailblazer Award honour … while Mark Wahlberg took his Generation Award as a sign that he was ‘f—-in’ done’ and wouldn’t be invited back to the Movie Awards. (And maybe he won’t, after that bleep-filled acceptance speech!)
It wouldn’t be the MTV Movie Awards without music—and we were treated to tunes by Ellie Goulding and Zedd, twenty one pilots, and Eminem & Rihanna performing their smash ‘The Monster’ together for the first time ever! From start to finish, the 2014 Movie Awards was an unbelievable, unforgettable show!
